When buying tools you should always get the best you can afford, it pays off in the long term.
If you need a specialist tool speak to someone in the trade, either they will do the task for you or point you towards a suitable tool. Often special tools are just not necessary for tasks that are one off’s, they just make repetitive tasks simpler.
I have been told many times “you don’t need that, just do this....” and it worked.
On the next page you will see a selection of tools that I have bought to do this job and others in the past, believe it or not just one of those tools can be bought from ‘Trade’ suppliers for twice what I paid for them all - the difference being that I am not using them all day every day so why buy one that is intended for that type of service?
If you are doing some remanufacturing or fabrication of your own then other tools are needed, but again shop around. Most of my kit came from ALDI believe it or not.
My background is industrial Health & Safety so I am making no apologies for stressing the need for care and attention while doing anything with potentially dangerous equipment or tools, and that includes the car itself. REMEMBER the most dangerous tool is you - nothing else can think for itself!
