This web site is intended to show my current hobby project - restoration of a 1986 Reliant SS1 1600 c.c. sports car.
All background information reproduced in these pages is based on my own personal experiences or ‘public domain’ facts freely available to owners or potential owners in magazines and Reliant company literature freely distributed at the time of the car’s production.
There are a number of excellent publications available giving detailed historical facts about the Reliant Motor Company and all their cars should you want more in depth information. See RSSOC web site link.
I feel that there are not enough web sites dedicated to the SS1, perhaps this is because there aren’t all that many left around anymore, so I thought while I am doing the car restoration I may as well publish my work logs and comments to go some way to putting this right.
Workshop manuals and other technical information sheets are available from the owners club, (at a charge) well worth the membership fee for the magazine alone.
