About me.

Interior / upholstery / seats:

The seats are sound but rather dirty, needs no more than a deep clean shampoo, the colour difference on a clean patch under the head restraint is remarkable.

Seat mounts are all solid and show no signs of deterioration under the tub floor.

All carpets are very sound for their age and need a deep clean to make full assessment. I expect that the foot pads in the O/S well will need renewing but the carpets overall are sound.

Door cards are both lose and need repairing.

* Some damage has been caused by seat belt buckles.

* Trim lose, needs refitting after clean.

* All fixings need renewing and various door body repairs will be needed, nothing needed on the door structure though.

The Fascia is sound but many parts are loose or damaged. Some switches do not operate correctly but they are all there and repairable.

This type of car has its glove box (or trinket box as it is known) on the centre console behind the handbrake lever. This box is lockable and intended to store cassette tapes and other small items. It is certainly not secure enough to be used for valuables that should be stored in the boot.

This trinket box was badly stained from driving with an elbow rested on the lid and constant use with soiled hands. In this case the box was removed entirely and steam cleaned with upholstery cleaner. While all traces of the stain are not removed they are not as noticeable as before, however the soiled hand marks have all been removed. As this process degraded the adhesives used to hold the fabrics in place it was necessary to reassemble it with contact adhesives where necessary. All that remains now is to locate a new lock barrel and refit the unit into the car.
