I have to say that family pressure (however subtle) eventually swung me towards a more conventional car but the Scimitar GTE, GTC, SE 5/6/7 & 8 ranges are all far to big and costly for me to run and restore but are almost ten a penny second Hand. I just don’t have the room for one anyhow!

 

The SS1, or “Small Sports One”, at first did not appeal too much simply because the ones I found for sale were basically junk, either rotten or partially stripped of original features and far beyond any viable restoration I had in mind.

 

Some months on and I began to come across cars that could be rebuilt quite sensibly but the price was silly when you added the restore costs to the purchase price. Eventually more came on the market for the summer months and the price went up with the good ones reaching the top of the guide price range and the less sound ones going for twice what they were worth.

 

Eventually after a few failed bids on e-bay my sights were drawing in on realistically priced cars from good sources, a deal is now done but that does not stop me waffling.
